chiumonster:

Ladies and gentlemen I bring to you my illustration of the Zelda timeline.

“Oh youth, guided by the servant of the goddess, unite earth and sky, and bring light to the land—”

—and let the spirit of the hero fucking prevail.

welllll it’s on dA but I figured I’d post it here as well. I hope my Saturday that disappeared for this picture was well spent! I’m glad I got to do something for the 25th Anniversary of the. best. gaming. series. of. all. time. <3

anxious-hearts:

If there is one character that inspires me to be a better person, it’s Link. He is everything I wish I could be. He is selfless, courageous, kind, strong, dependable and pure. Every Link incarnation may be slightly different from each other, but they all hold the same heroic traits. Whether he is sailing across the vast ocean in search for his sister, riding across the lands of Hyrule on his horse Epona or fighting frightening monsters in dark caves, he is always putting his life at risk. To think he saves the world, bruised and bloodied and all alone, without receiving any recognition for his actions and only a few people know of what he has succeeded, it’s quite heartbreaking. He has saved so many lives but hardly gets a thank you for it, but does it stop him? No. He doesn’t save the world to be praised with fame and admiration, he does it because he is a good person and genuinely cares and that’s exactly the kind of person I strive to be. To many, he might just be a generic mute hero, but to me, he is much more than that. He has taken me on a memorable journey so many times and has even helped me overcome some fears of mine. He truly does make me desire to be a better person. I want to be just like him; to be less selfish and help others, to destroy the darkness that lurks in my heart and to be a stronger person, not just physically, but emotionally too. He will always be a character I will support and love until the day I die.

Thank you, Link. Thank you for giving me the strength to keep on going in life.
